Brooks handlebar tape colour match

Hello

I bought some brown tape via Ebay. Having taken the strips of leather out of the box, they are clearly slightly different in colour and texture.

Is this normal?

I don't want to wrap £30 worth of bar tape and find that I have actually been sent a duff batch! The guys who sold it to me said that over time and usage the colours would change and match.....

    The colour changes a LOT with both the Brooks saddles and tape. I had the honey tape before which lost it's colour very quickly after a winter's worth of commuting. I currently have the brown which is much better. It started off very reddish, but has changed to a nice deep brown.

    I'm sure you'll probably be the only person who notices any slight differences in colour - I'd personally just slap it on and ride!

    Great, thanks for the feedback, I am using brown so hopefully it will be OK. I will just give it a go - it will cost me a couple of pounds to send it back anyway and I have a free evening this evening!
