Recommendations for Shoe Covers?

I'm looking to get some really good shoe covers for riding in the cold weather and was looking for recommendations. Had a few questions:

1. What shoe covers best block the wind?
2. Do you still need heat inserts or can the heat from your feet do enough?
3. Know of any deals?

Thanks!

planet x got a deal at mo..got same lot last year. gloves overshoes and beanie for 25 squid.overshoes keep cold out
  • Do you mean overshoes? I've got some neoprene toe covers from Probikekit which aren't bad for the money.

But as for overshoes, you can't go wrong with Endura Road overshoes, can be found for under £20 posted from the likes of Wiggle and Chainreaction

Just get any cheap neoprene overshoes - avoid the expensive goretex ones - cost four times as much and arent as durable.

Also look at getting some merino socks - they help with the warmth so long as you have the space in the shoe. Cramped toes arent good.
  • Prendas do some great windtex ones at about £25 they also have their meraklon oversocks for about £8.

  • +1 for the Endura overshoes. I suffer from really cold feet to the point my toes go numb. I had Altura neoprene overshoes & had to wear thick socks and neoprene toe caps but would still have cold feet so i got a pair of the Endura ones this week and wore them today with summer socks and didn't have a problem - nice toastie warm dry feet
