In the past,I have had problems in the past with my q/r seatpost clamp sllpping.I put this down to the fact that I have, quite a lot of pst showing and am no lightweight.
I have today switched the Easton EA50 post for a Thomson Elite, but want something a bit lighter than my current q/r clamp and a bit more bling.
Are the Hope ones OK or not.Read a few compalints of the bolt snapping.
If not what others should I consider?
Budget is up to £20.

Hope is nicely made, and not too expensive. Salsa make some lovely ones, as do USE:

this is seriously sad, a clamp is a clamp0

If it's a carbon seatpost you'll need a diagonally slotted clamp to disperse the load properly or if you have a verrtically slotted clamp make sure the bolt of the clamp is on the opposite side of the seat tube slot to prevent crushing the carbon with too much force on one side of the seatpost.
If it's an aluminium seatpost like the EA70 then you don't have to worry about a diagonally slotted clamp. Hope this helps.0 -
I use a hope on my scott with my thomson post, doesn't slip, looks great and is really strong. The post has great springyness compared to some others.0
