looking to replace a catridge bottom bracket. I've measured it and its 125mm and I've checked my spare parts collection and I have a useable one ... but its only 113mm.
So - quick question - would this be ok or not?

Wont work - you need to use the same dimensions as your old one. The reason is that the axle is designed to be used to give a certain chainline and clearance.0

thanks - thought that was probably the case---- also wondered; what happens if youre trying to replace an old style cup and cone one with a catridge type .. and cant source the exact same length - guess you fit the closest size that you can find?0

You shouldnt have any problems finding the same length, most BBs are available in a huge range of sizes, especially square taper ones such as the UN520

If you're replacing a C&C with a cartridge unit you'll enjoy the ease at which the fixed cup comes out of the frame :twisted:I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
