Anyone else get one of these leaflets this morning? Traffic police were handing them out to cyclists at Marble Arch and Trafalgar Square.

Looks like a demonstration of the dangers filtering on the left of large trucks. If you are interested:

Horse Guards Parade, Monday 12th - Thursday 15th. 08:30 - 18:30

The dangers are being squashed like a bug, I thought everyone knew that, same as in a car

It's just a hill. Get over it.

Better than in NW London where they were handing signs out to put in your car window that said "No valuebles kept in car. Please do not break in" what a waste of money and time!!

I've got one of those signs, makes perfect sense to me

  • No, everyone does not know that unfortunately. They presumably think I am waiting BEHIND the lorry that indicating left because I like it there, as they undertake me and scoot down the left side...hardly anyone ever just waits.

Normally a female foreign student turns up under the wheels of an HGV every few months, well worth making clueless cyclists aware.
  • Cyclists in London also have a slight problem with overtaking - they seem to think it's safe to overtake other cyclists with 2" of room.

Also the other day in Holloway I saw a cyclist (wearing a helmet and tabard of course) with a red light on the FRONT of his bike. I just give up with most of them. :x
\'Cycling in Amsterdam.is not a movement, a cause, or a culture.It\'s a daily mode of transportation. People don\'t dress special to ride their bike any more than we dress special to drive our car... In the entire 1600 photographs that I took, there were only three people in "bike gear" and wearing helmets.\' Laura Domala, cycling photographer.

Saw one on Waterloo bridge on friday with a white light on their back.

An improvement over the 30% of cyclists who are still cycling without lights in the night, just hoping the bus etc. will notice their dark outline against the dark road.
