goodridge fitting experience!

Hi guys!
Last night I fitted a goodridge hose to my front avid juicy 7 and found it extremely frustrating! fitting the connectors on the hose wasn't to difficult although I managed to break the lever connector and had to order a new one (£7) and drill out the bit left inside the hose!
once installed I had to bleed the brake and that was when everything went wrong, I had to bleed it 3 times! I think the instructions are very confusing and they miss some steps... it never took me so long, and so much frustration to bleed Hopes..
has anyone had similar problems, or am I just an idiot?

you should not fit Goodridge hoses to Avid's brakes - they specifically recommend that this is not done !!
its a shame that Goodridge sell a kit for Avid, as Avid do not want these hoses fitted to their brakes
they design the Juicy and Code brakes around the use of a non-braided hose, as a complete system
using Goodridge on Avid invalidates the warranty, can overpressure the brake system and ruins the "feel" (modulation) of the brake :shock:check out my riding - www.robcole.co.uk Banshee Factory Team rider, Da Kine UK Team rider, www.freeborn.co.uk www.eshershore.com0 -
Ooops, didn't know that! I even posted on the tech forum (goodridge hoses) a couple of days ago asking for helps and tips... didn't get any replies.. I'll see how it goes, if they're terrible I'll change back to the original...
thanks, anyway..0 -

Although Avid reccomend you don't do it, it will not ruin the feel of the brake, I use Goodridged Avids as do many people, it makes a huge improvement all round. True it invalidates the warranty but you can make huge savings by buying brakes without a warranty.0 -
hi there i have a 2007 spech fsr xc comp which installed avid brakes i changed the hoses to goodridge with some difficulty and they felt ok but i have now changed whole system to hope with goodridge hoses and feel of brake is a vast improvement . but then i have the hopes on other bike with same hoses.. so i may have i biased opinion on thisRick Lankshear0
