Stripped crank bolt cover

I've been taking apart my old track bike as the frame is going onto eBay. I've managed to strip the allen key hole in the soft alloy crank bolt cover of the Campagnolo Pista chainset. This is an expensive thing to do, as replacements from Campag cost!

It also means I need to find a way of removing the cover - without taking it to the LBS as another example of my mechanical stupidy.

Any suggestions?

Swallow your pride and slink down to the LBS, head hung low.

    It is easily done.

Drill two holes pretty much as far apart as you can and use round nosed pliers, circlip pliers, or even a pair of scissors in the holes to twist it out. The holes obviously need to be of a size to suit the tool, but the smaller the better for aesthetics.
