Summer commuting - Less clothing means a faster journey. Don't feel the need to dress up like a christmas tree in order to be seen. Take more scenic routes.
Winter commuting - Dressing up for the 'mini-adventure' that bad weather can provide - I can wear a balaclava or similar over my face, like a superhero! I am tough and impervious to cold! Being thought of as mad for cycling in ice and/or snow.
Overall i think i prefer summer (it's the speed thing) but there is a perverse, masochistic, pleasure to winter commuting that i wouldn't want to miss out on either!
What do you like about the different seasons?

Non-sweaty seasons...which is any of them in this country so far this year, but I'll go for a nice, crisp autumn, clear, but cold. Easy to dress for if a little dark. And not too sweaty, even for Captain Perspiration.
It's just a hill. Get over it.0 -
2005-06. Record points haul of 106 and 99 goals. Awesome stuff.road0

ALL OF THEM!
Love the summer for the long days.
Love the autumn for the leaves and the colour of the trees and my FAVOURITE type of cycling weather (well, weather generally) is a clear crisp autumn day.
Love the winter for the instant wake up when you get outside and the ready brek glow you get around you after 10 minutes.
Love the spring for the warm rain.
I'd die of boredom if I lived somewhere that didn't heve seasons.0 -
Spring I think, or early Autumn.0

My favourite time of year for riding, rather than a season, would be from Mid Jan to March, when the nights are slowly getting shorter and the weather is getting warmer.
Can't beat a good summer's day commute though, but then, I'd rather actually be out riding somewhere 'nice' that to the office!0 -
The ones without leaves everywhere!0
