What is the worst bit of kit you have ever bought?
Mine are the pair of Aldi bib longs I wore for the first time today, and at £12.99 for a pair that is saying something!
The first bad point is they don't make me look slimmer - they are baggy up top and don't help me hold my belly in. They are tight where they should not be and loose where you need support.
Secondly, if I kept my feet in the stirrups the pad hung about 5 inches below my crotch, so I took my feet out the stirrups and pulled them up. Instead the 5 inch gap was now at ankle level. No bother - I just put on a longer pair of socks and pulled them up.
Now I don't mind looking like Worzel Gummidge…..and I did.
What I do mind is that the pad was placed in such a bizarre position that it had no discernible effect, I never knew 10 miles could be so painful!
My knadgers were raw by the time I got to work. I am going to cut them up as rags when I get home tonight.

Funnily enough Aldi bib longs.
However being a tightwad I have cut off the stirrups, wear a pair of decent cycling shorts under them and wearing a long pair of overshoes just meets the bottom of the legs. The pad is made out of 2mm thick very weak foam I think. As said 5" longer legs, tighter waist and a decent chamois would make a great piece of kit even if they charged £30.
They are warm though and have a wee wee zip  .0 -

A pair of Sealskinz waterproof gloves. Yes, they are waterproof, yes they keep your hand warm and dry...but everytime you take them off, the inner glove lining comes out of the glove, making putting them back on again a real pain - especially out on the trail!0

All of the Aldi cycling gear is utter shite IMHO. It really annoys me when people make out that they are getting a great buy. It's cheap for a reason.
And yes, I also bought some bib longs last year. Don't ask me why. I've nevver worn them.
Also has anyone noticed that all Aldi clothes have a peculiar smell?0 -

It is what it is, the gilets are great as are the reflective jackets but I wouldn't trade my assos airblock on a winter training ride for them....
the running kit on the other hand is a bargain. I bought a vest and shorts for £9.48 in total and I've worn them in plenty of running races and training without any problems0 -

Of course not, but they are not even worth the £12.
All the other Aldi gear has been worth what I spent on it, the winter jackets this time round are superb - for the priice, which at under a rtenner is not hard!0 -
the onguard D-lock holder. onguard looks are great value but they clearly couldn't be ar5ed with the lock holder. it simply doesn't hold a lock.
next worst, maybe the altura shield rainproof - all the breathability of clingfilrm. jackets that protect you from rain but boil you in the bag are a complete waste of time.0 -
Aldi wireless bike computer. Had three (the last two were both replacements) and all failed. There seems to be a bit of an Aldi thing going on here...
Also had a REALLY rubbish LED front light from Halfords....
And a series of Cateye rear ones that kept letting the water in.

recently bought some cycling bib longs from Aldi that were £9.99 (not £12.99) and have been very pleased with them. They are warm and comfortable.Went back a fortnight ago to see if they might have some left over - they didn't , but found some excellent running tights (material is thinner so will not be ideal for when it is really cold) that were only about £7. Previously bought a cycling jersey but thought the arms were a bit loose so i took it back, absolutely no problem returning things. Can't really see what the problem with Aldi gear is - if you don't like it don't keep it.We are born with the dead:

This is what i don't understand with people. The guy in the add is 5'9" buys the small size and find they are 3" too short for him when he gets them home. Why doesn't he just take them back :?
I am 5'9" as well, i bought the medium as well as the large, took them home tried them on and found the large to be the best fit and took the others back. Hardly rocket science  . I wore mine early this morning (cold and windy)for a 20 mile ride and was well pleased with them.We are born with the dead:

Because I tried them on but was still uncertain. The only way to be absolutely certain was to go out and ride in them (it's not rocket science is it?)
After twenty miles I found out the weren't for me, so that's why I offered them for sale.0 -
Apologies Stephec only glanced at the link and didn't realise the person selling was you

I also own two pairs of the Aldi bib longs.
And, I too find the crotch is FAR too low.
They remind me of those MC Hammer kecks.
Despite this, they are ok for commuting in. They are so cheap that I dont mind them getting covered in crap etc.
I actually like the material the fronts are made from, its easily warm enough to go right through the winter.
For me, the perfect winter commuting kecks would be similar to the Endura Humvee full length trousers, but made of a warmer material. I really like the way you can change how tight you want them around your ankles, so you can go into "civilian mode" when off the bike. The A6 Hazel Grove - "Always the worst part of any ride".0 -
Smart 7 LED blinkie.
It fell off a week after fitting, so definitely wasn't worth the money (although i must admit that it was probably my fault.)0 -

Pace RC-36 suspension fork. Gorgeous to look at, great when it was working. But so unreliable as to be unrideable and something really strange seemed to happen to it when it got wet. Oh and then there was the day the front wheel fell out going over a drop ...
380 notes. There are one or two other things hidden in the garage, but that stands out. It was SO gorgeous0 -
mines cloths too. I'm another cheapskate that never learns his lesson. So I
ordered made to measure bib shorts and a hooded top from Impsports . Hood was for a bloke with a 10" neck and the insert of the shorts was half way up my belly ? not sure where there model keeps his todger but mines situated right between my legs ?
Still got the damn things 10 years later. Loathe to throw them out as they cost a bomb.0 -
DHB bib shorts (mor my shoulders than the shorts)

How about something we've all "bought" in the UK. The EU! Talk about not worth the money, and we can't even work out how much it's bloody cost us either! Apparently the "benefits are so obvious"!Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.0
