Strange theft

My girlfriend locked her bike up outside yesterday. When she came back from work someone had taken the stem and the headset. The stem can obviously easily be put on another bike but why take the headset unless you've got the right equipment? It must have taken quite a lot of preparation.

    My missus once had the bulb stolen out of her front light (in the days before LEDs).

    My wife had the seatpost clamp stolen, but the saddle and post put back.

    I once had a inner tube nicked but the left the wheel and tyre

    obviously I'm making that up but it doesn't sound much madder than the stories above!

    occasionaly someones somehow stolen the air out of my tyres, but left the entire wheel intact.


    to make it worse they tend to put a small hole in the innertube as well
