KMC 10 speed chains
Does anyone have any measure of the performance differences between the KMC X10-L and X10-SL chains, ie besides being lighter why go for the SL? More interested in durability.
Also, more of a newbie question, but I'm thinking of changing cassettes from 12-25 to 12-27. Is this likely to cause any significant additional stress to the chain? Have standard double on the front.
Thanks

I've got a X10-SL on my best bike and it's performed faultlessly. I think the only difference is the slotted side plates, so wear should be comparable - assuming they've both got the gold Ti-Nitride coating. Changing cassettes should be no problem - you may have to adjust the B-screw on your rear mech to stop the jockey wheel hitting the largest sprocket, as well as ensuring you add one more link to the chain length.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
