    Not worth the money (IMHO)

I've heard of quite a few failures on the 50/50's & they lack grip.

Try DMR mag V12's or the Wellgo copies that you can find on eBay.

I got some of these the other week from mark anthony bikes in buxton (activesport on ebay) they're excellent, magnesium alloy, sealed bearings and very light. £30 :D

I got some 50/50 pedals on a Demo 8 that I just bought.

I'll be swapping them for something like V8s once I 've bought a few of the more importnat things I need for it. I might even go for another set of Odyssey Jim C Magnesium pedals as I've used them for a few years on my BMX and they're amazing. Light, strong and super grippy (they have a nice concave to them... and removalbe pins).

The thing I dont like about the 50/50 is that they're not amazingly grippy and feel too big underfoot. I dont like the look of them either, as fickle as that may sound. Weight isnt really an issue on a Demo 8... it's a heavy beast!

  • i have them, DON'T GRIP AT ALL, but i do like the size and also the smoothness and it looks sweet, but the fact that they don't grip more then outweighs ANY of the pros.

its gonna be on my cruiser once i get some red ones, and i'm sure there are tonnes out there better quality n priced.

    What about syncros mentals's

    they look the biz.
    ....................................................................................................

Been looking around and some people have some really bad thing to say about the V12'S like paint just comes off withing 10 min, and also bearings seize up ect.

Might stick to the new shimano flats they have they look quite cool and you can always trust shimano.

IIRC in the preview 2007 mbuk, doddy said "i've been running crank bros 50/50 pedals for an age.............once the pins have been swapped for grub screws thy're as grippy a s anything out there"

Ive used 50/50s and find them grippy even with the original pins. I know that the pins in the v8s have a habit of falling out. Getting some this weekend, ill soon find out!

iv got 5050xx on my bike...

they are great.. loads on grip, nice and flat...

i cant say iv had any probs with them at all..
  • bottom line is if you don't have a pair of decent MB shoes (Shimano Dxs or FiveTens) DO NOT buy them, any normal skate shoes arent tacky enough, even with the grub screws.
Ive had 50/50 XXs for goin on a year now and i hate them, i was more confident with my old V12s, if you want a decent pair, Atomlab Trail Pimps are £40 on www.chainreactioncycles.com atm, they are worth it :P

    All the best
  • I have the 50/50s I like them. But I think the grip cold be improved. I was wondering about trying, in stead of the stock pins, the short pin set, long pins or grub screws.
