What are those events called where a load of people suddenly turn up in a random place, like a sofa shop on Deansgate, with their mobile phones and then they bugger off again?

A flashmob - seemed to be in the news a lot a couple of years back, but you don't seem to hear about them much these days (or maybe they're still around but the media lost interest?).

Yeah, something like that - Veloriders is back in action now, so the majority have decamped back over there. A fleeting visit I think for most, although I know a few post to both forums - now that's commitment - takes me all day to just post to this one

I used to frequent a well known running forum (had rubbish job so could spend all day surfing if I liked). One day someone suggested we all be childish, wait until 2pm and then storm the US version of the running sites forum. It was quite amusing, about 100 Brits all posting at the same time! Some of them thought it was quite amusing and organised a revenge attack a couple of weeks later. But the majority of the miserable gits just got aggro with us!! :D

something about that really appeals to me  where shall we storm then?

I wouldn't mind turning up, en masse, in a furniture shop either
