Duc32 (06) vs Pike coil

Hello everyone.
I have a SC Heckler 07 model (142mmtravel) with a DHX5 coil shock fitted and a Fox 36 Talas (150mm) up front. I am looking for a lower fork as the riding position is too upright. Its fine while bombing down steep tracks but once you point the bike uphill things become rather....fiddly. I am now looking to fit a different fork and was headed in the direction of a RockShox Pike (coil) with poplock when I found a Maverick Duc32 (06) at pretty much the same price which seems like a heck of a bargain(price-wise at least). Its brand new and taken off another Heckler in place of a different fork. The Pike is a sweet fork and servicing is no problem, but I would like to know peoples opinions on the Duc32. Is it worth considering or should I stick to the Pike? I ride mostly all-mountain trails with a bit of light DH.
Anny advice would be welcome!

the duc will need a new hub/wheel and you have to use the stem.
i would go for a U-turn pike."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Considering the new hub/wheel is not an issue (a hub is provided but there are also ways to convert a 20mm axle into a 24mm) and a stem (70mm) is also provided, is there any other reason I should opt for the Pike? I do have a small doubt at to whether I may be lowering my head angle too much with it.Preserve Nature...

i would like to know a few things about the fork. why is it being changed out? steering too sharp? or loss of steering angle?
personally i would like a fork that i could lower the travel when needed but keep it long/tall when needed. I also am concered about the fork being too short for the travel on that frame."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

The Duc was part of the original setup of a Heckler sold 2 years ago by the shop. The customer wanted a Zocchi Z1 instead so they swapped it out but never got to sell the Duc so they are now killing it off. So, its brand new.Preserve Nature...

Hi there zendog i have duc32's on my whtye 46 and they're sweet mate. I ride aggresive xc/ light freeride. And have read reviews online of people using them for downhill too but not sure how true this is!? Handy climbing mode which drops the forks 2in for hills. No reliability issues either and had them just over a year from 2nd hand too so they're doin well. I don't have any experience of the pikes though so can't compare the two. I'm sure nicks advice will be spot on though mate he knows his stuff! I do love the mavericks though :P .
Hope you sort your dilemma out (go with the mavericks )
Cheers,
