Etxe Ondo Clothing in London?

Hi,

Does anyone know of any shops in London or the Home Counties that sell Etxe Ondo clothing.

I quite like the look of some of their gear but I'd like to see some "in the flesh" before I consider buying. Also, I gather their sizing is a bit unusual (eg like Assos?) so I'd like to try some to at least work out what might be the right size for me.

Anyone on here have any Etxe Ondo gear and care to comment on what it's like?

Thanks in advance.

Marcus

Richardsons in Elm Road, Leigh-on-Sea, Essex have a reasonable selection of Etxeondo kit. There are winter jackets for about £110. Very good. I know a number of people who wear them and they look and perform well. The shorts are also very comfortable and long lasting. I'm 5' 11'' 12.5 stone and take an XL.

Sigma Sport in Kingston used to stock it - worth checking before travelling
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

I think Sigma still sell it - I was in there last week and think I saw some.

I believe Mosquito Bikes on Essex Road in Islington sell it too.

I would have thought Ciclos Uno have it in stock but not sure.
  • Phil Corley cycles in Milton Keynes are stockists. I bought a winter jacket recently and it is superb. Seeing them in the same shop as Gore, Altura etc makes you realise just how well made they are. Expensive though.
  • I have tried it. the bibshorts are quite a small fit and squash your knackers if you don't err on the larger side. the stitching came loose early on as well. the jacket is again cut on the small side but is a nice comfy jacket.

  • I think Cycles Dauphin sells it too (they are the shop at the top of box hill).

have a look at the mentioned shops' websites to see if they are stockists.

I got an Exte Ondo top three years ago as a birthday pressie from my wife. The guy in the shop (in Spain) told her it was the best so she took his advice and fortunately bought XL (they tend to size on the small side - I'm 5'10 and 11.5 st). It cost I think €50 and I can honestly say it's the best in my locker by a mile and still looks as good as new. So far I haven't found a Scottish retailer so buy whenever I go to Spain - they are available in decent LBS all over the country not just Euskadi so should be easy to track down if ever you are there.

To look really cool in Etxe Ondo you also need to grow a proper Basque mullet

Re a Scottish Retailer, The Bicycle Works in South Clark Street, Edinburgh (That's the Tri Shop underneath the health food store, next to Drum Central) certainly used to stock some of their kit. I have one of their Gore Windstopper jackets which I bought in there about a year ago and its really good. The other folks are right re sizing, very snug!

I was in Sigma yesterday and they have quite a bit of Exte-Ondo kit in stock. It looks very good too.

I'm off to grow a mullet.

I bought a gilet from Phil Corley Cycles in MK a couple of weeks ago in the sale. IMO its one of my best purchases, excellent cut, windproof and very comfortable, better than my Assos one in any case. Sizing seems similar to Assos i.e. Large is 38"-40" chest.
