I need to identify and date a Chas Roberts singlespeed frame that doesn't feature tubing labels or model name. The frame number is 595, with Campag chainstays and Columbus fork.
Pictures of the frames are visiblr here: http://www.tincandesigns.com/roberts/
I know that I could simply call Chas Roberst direct, but they are closed on Mondays and I though some of you may know a lot about these frames anyway.

Identifying one shouldn't be a problem - plenty around.

If you want to date one, the best approach is to send flowers and chocolates, then ask one out for dinner.

Do be careful things don't go too far though:

    The frame number is 595,
That's not a complete frame number.
Roberts use a 6 digit where the first 2 are the month, the middle two are the number of the frame built that month, and the last two are the year. I may have the month andframe number the wrong way around.

595 looks like it is some identifier for the bottom bracket sheel. Also the frame number on my Roberts is in the conventional place on the bottom bracket shell, not right up on one stub.
  • I have had another look at the bottom bracket and still can't find any number other than 595. Could there be a different numbering system in place for different ranges of frames?
