Spacers Mavic M10 cassette body and Shimano 10 Cassette

I've just picked up a set of Mavic Aksiums and have upgrade to 10 sped at the same time. The new wheels come with a spaces on the Mavic cassette body, which for Shimano bolck the instructions say should be mounted on the hub flang side of the cassette. There is also a inner spacer, slightly thinner, included with the Shimano cassette. Do I need to fit both? or is one or the other and if so which one?

Rapid response appreciated as I won't to get out there.
