Anyone got one of these yet?

Was just checking out cannondales new range and this caught my eye. I do quite a bit of travelling when taking a full size bike i a real bind due to the sheer size of it. Also looks like the type of bike to nip 5miles across town on or down to tesco would be no probs.

Ive always fancies a small utility bike but been put off becuase ive thought most folders have looked terrible...

Wheras this looks quite cool i think http://gb.cannondale.com/bikes/08/ce/model-8HL2.html

Just wondered if anyone has one or has seen one...

I think I'll wait till I see one in the flesh. Looks ok from the pic, would like to see one being ridden.

"Easy wheelie" · the only urban bike that is also made for wheelies

That's me sold. I often ride into the city and think "If only I could pop a wheelie right here, right now it would make my commute so much more enjoyable"!!!!!

Looks like my lad's BMX stretched out a bit

It is an ugly thing though. And the blurb makes you cringe. Looks pretty bombproof though, but not very useful for a decent commute. Why not just get a proper bmx?

Let's not open that particular Pandora's box of rage, irrational dislike and general loathing

Let's just say I'm not a fan

They are damn useful in a number specific circumstances.

glad you recognise its a fault with your rather than the genre of bikes in particular.

  • Kind of looks like what the Dahon Groove should have been, or a rigid airnimal rhino... Folders are good once you get used to them, i love mine but i've made a lot of mods. There are advantages and disadvantages. One of the deciders is definitely a hinge. I'd be more likely to buy a 26" folder than a 20" non-folder...

Sith Lord BentMikey has helmets and Day-Glo as his bete-noirs, mine's foldies (I'm talking Bromptons and other satanic train-related contraptions here)

But I totally accept that I have a fault or two, hey, no-one's perfect

I like it a lot, it addresses the low seat height issue that comes with a BMX bike without looking totally ridiculous, but as usual for a 'dale it's way too expensive. A really top end BMX would still come in at under £500 and even the three speed version of this is £50 more than that.

I wonder if there are any plans for a single speed version? That's all you need for quick urban hops anyway. Probably still be overpriced, but what do you expect.

WTF is the tag line all about - "Ride like you stole it."

Yeah that sounds like a good idea Cannondale.

How about "Ride like you're embarrassed"

Concrete, dirt, stairs or the metro. Any city trail is a shortcut and is the right playing field for the Hooligan

so it's a bike for riding on the pavement?

    what tossers

 Sounds like my short commute to the station, and it looks a giggle. Wouldn't fancy leaving £500+ locked up by the station though..
