I have posted this question on 'Special Interest' without any response so maybe someone here can tell me if these wheels, which I recently came across on ebay, are are likely to be a suitable cheapish pair of wheels for my winter fixed commuter.

    Well hardly surprising is it?
They say what they mean and mean what they say.A concept not readily accepted by folks normally used to spiel and sales waffle.Read gullible.

2 comments - these Suzue hubs are really cheap cup and cone type with absolutely no shielding - they'd barely last one wet ride without attention never mind a winter. Better off with Formula/System Ex/Ambrosio sealed cartridge hubs for a few quid more. As for the ebay seller - check up on their rating and Google for Dave Hinde and bask in the warm glow of his customer satisfaction!

    Cheers.

Do I take it the Dave Hinde ones are ok then?

I thought his wheels were not rated very highly by folks on this forum although the Centuar/Open Pros I have on my geared winter bike are still going strong after many 1000's of miles.

Err, you really want to check out their reputation before you buy from them - caveat emptor! There was a posting on here recently too. Don't buy the Suzue hubs - they are really basic and not suited to winter road use.
