Morning all!

hope you can help..

I bought a set of Avid Juicy 7s for my build and since the hoses are way too long I decided to upgrade to goodridge ones since, unlike hope brakes, i would need to bleed them anyway to shorten the hoses.

the question is: Can I buy goodridge from CRC at £7.99 per metre and use my old fittings( which are not old as I have just bought them)? Also, what's the best tool to cut goodridge? I have a good cable cutter, would that do the job?

Thanks guys!

  • no you cannot use your (not so old) fittings as the goodridge system fittings work differently from normal fittings where it connects to the hose, so although the bit that connects to your levers and callipers is the same the rest is diffrent. when i fitted mine i used a good set of cable cutters and that was fine, however you can't cut them with a good stanley knife like normal hoses. once on they do look pimptastic however!
  • thanks for the quick reply.
so do you know which fittings would I need to buy for juicy 7s?
there's like 6 different types on CRC...
  • sorry, discard last post, i have just found them! thanks anyway!
  • sorry to open this post again...

I bought the hoses, the connectors and the avid bleed kit.

So, before I make a right mess of things, does anyone have any tips that would avoid me get covered in dot fluid? I have bled Hope brakes a few times, how would avid compare to that? any easier/difficult?

    Cheers
