I need a tension adjustment bolt for my 2006 rear Veloce mech as I have stripped the threads on the original bolt. The part number I need is RD-DA004.

My LBS cannot source one unfortunately. Anyone know where I could get one from?

TIA

I got a bolt from Stagonset for my Shimano mech, I got an M4 grub screw in the appropriate length (actually I got 2 different lengths as the £1.50 postage was the same for one or more bits). Or you could get a regular socket head cap screw, but I thought the grub screw was neater. The chances are it uses a standard thread pitch such as these (I checked it against my tap and die set).

edit: Looking at the original part (page 27 in this), a capped bolt would be more appropriate.

Oh, looking more closely, it is the cable tension screw, not the "B" screw that I needed, so it is hollow for the cable to pass through, is that right? - my advice is redundant, sorry
  • Thanks bryanm, I have just contacted them and they can get hold of it for me.

I remember using them a couple of years ago to service one of my aging ergo levers. Turnaround time was 72 hours which was spot on.

Must make a point of visiting them if ever I am around Derby.
