Should do provided that the steerer tube on your forks is the correct diameter and that your bars are the right size.

Just a couple of things to bear in mind - if you fit a very short stem like this it will make the steering VERY direct and twitchy. You will also find that it will make your riding position far more upright and throw your weight further back. This will make it difficult to keep the front wheel on the deck when climbing on a bike like the Teocali.

The Teocali is more of an all-mountain/XC trail bike and it's gemometry may not favour fitting such a short stem

  • ok I wont bother with the stem its just that pink bike told me that a shorter stem would be better but when you put it like that I wont bother what about the fork will that be fine? and the tyres wich one will be best for the wether that might be coming up that is wet and damp
  • could somebody answer me pease :D
    would the fork be fine?
    and witch tyres?
  • would 170mm be to big for my bike?

The forks might be okay, but then they probably are a little long. What is wrong with the forks you currently have? I just think you'd probably be a bit better off saving more money and buying yourself a better fork now if that is an option.

As for tyres the world is your oyster, the teocali has 2.1" tyres IIRC, what sort of riding do you do? On what sort of terrain?
  • It is mostly muddy terrain but sometimes quit rocky terrain

what kind of forks would be best?
  • what would be your choce of forks?

I think possibly before we go any further, it might be best if we could understand your reasons behind wanting to upgrade.

    Is your planned upgrade -

    a) because your exisiting parts are worn out/broken?
    b) because you want to improve the ride/handling of your bike?
    c) because you want some fancy shiny new bits and some bloke on PinkBike says that you ought to get them?

Bear in mind that the Teocali Comp is a hardcore trail/all-mountain ride. Fitting longer forks and a shorter stem will jack up the front end, raise the bottom bracket and thus the centre of gravity and throw your weight further back.

All this will make the bike an absolute pig to ride uphill and whilst it may become more stable at speed going downhill, because the centre of gravity is higher up it will make it harder to balance. In addition to all this, longer travel forks will put added stresses on the frame - if it's not designed to handle those stresses it may fail prematurely.

Give us some more background as to why you want to upgrade and someone MAY be able to help you.
