Sram shifters X.7 vs. X.9

I am updating from 8-speed to 9 and need a new shifter. I've no complaints about my current x7 shifter (with an x7 rear mech) but I'm considering upgrading the shifter to x9 while I'm at it. Am I likely to notice any improvement if I spend an extra 15 quid on the shifter?

in short yes.
i run x7 on one bike and x9 on the other and the x9 is ALOT snappier and has a much better feel to it when changing gear.
i'm changing over the x7 to x9 as soon as it wears out.0 -
Thanks Prophet. Have you got x9 mech on that other bike as well? Do you think it is mainly the shifter that makes the difference?0

yeh its a x9 rear mech (07) and then x9 shifters (07).
supposidly the x9 isnt far off the x0 but i've not tried that so couldnt give my opinion0 -
be aware you will lose your gear indicator on the 07 X9."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

agreed but some people complain."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
