Anyone use/d a seatpost shim? Do they work?

Just bought a second frame with the same seat tube angle as my main bike, and was hoping to just swap my post/saddle between frames as and when. Unfortunately, current post is 27.2, and the new frame needs a 31.6 post.

So what are your experiences folks? Will a shim of the correct size work or are they el crappo slippy slippy :)

Yes they do work and no slippier than a normal tube.

A good quality shim from USE etc which are made from Delrin/acetal will never mean you have to grease your post or worry about it sticking - worth considering if using a carbon post in aluminium or titanium
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

My posts actually have a second clamp mounted on the seatpost itself - This makes removal/refit to the same height easy - albeit on the same frame each time - Plus it helps prevent slippage.
