Home trainer + accessories?
Interested in one of these and looking at the Tacx T1435 Soft Gel.
One place selling it calls it the 'silent trainer'. I'm assuming that is a load of bollocks but the less audible the better. I'm guessing it'll still sound like a washing machine or spin dryer. :?:
Does anyone use Conti's Home Trainer tyre on theirs and is a mat a worthwhile investment too?

Not silent but a lot quieter than steel roller trainers. Get the tyre they last for ages.Racing is life - everything else is just waiting0

Cheers DtR.
The neighbour's son played the drums (very, very badly) for about 2 years so they'll have some nerve if they complain.0 -
I've got a Conti Home Trainer tyre, and it's definitely recommended - wears a lot better than a road tyre (you'll wear one of those out in a typical winter on the trainer). No idea about the noise - mine's not that quiet, but after 10 or so years I just kind of ignore it - still makes a lot less noise than a drum kit (unless you have it upstairs on a wooden floor, when it will vibrate the whole house!)0
