Ti seatpost sticking in ti frame? ti stems?
I know that occasionally seat posts get stuck in frames
Steel sticks in steel
Steel sticks in alloy
Alloy sticks in steel
Alloy sticks in alloy
Carbon sticks in carbon
What about Titanium in Titanium?
I have been quoted £40 (inc duty & vat) for a custom made titanium seat post (to be imported along with frame)
Is titanium particually prone to sticking in titanium frames?
I assume not as it doesn’t corrode but then neither does carbon and I have still heard of that sticking.
any any comments on the suitability of Ti as a seatpost material are also appreciated as they are nor very common, i assume this is due to the difficuly in machineing them.
i am also interested in the suitability of Ti as a stem material as i have also got a very reasonable quote for a custom made stem.

Grease the post before you fit it and it won't stick.0

I've had my Ti post in a ti frame for a couple of years with no issues. Many Ti bikes have an aluminium sleeve though inside the seat-tube so it might well be a Ti-Al interface.0

the correct prosedure is to use copper compound - then nothing gets stuck0
