Newbie - clicking sound while pedalling

Hi everyone,

This topic may have cropped up before....any suggestions would be appreciated.

My bike clicks when pedalling hard - same standing or in the saddle. It's a sort of "tick tick" sound and seems to be coming from the right hand pedal.

I've replaced the BB (XT splined) and no difference. I've also greased the crank / BB interface a number of times and tightened the chainring bolts.

Could it be due to the following? (a) the freehub and (b) the suspension bearings (it's a Spec FSR XC)? As far as I can tell there is no play in the bearings.

There's no slipping from the freehub, but the cassette defintely feels a little loose (the lockring is tight). Should there be some play there?

spray some gt85 around the pedals, i had a similar problem on one of my pedals and it was just some muck inbetween the pedal/crank arms.... worth a try other wise it probably is the bearings..

Yeah I also had a clicking sound on one of my pedals, a spray of Muc off Bike Spray also has fixed it.

I mean it did sound like the bearings had gone, even though it was just a month old? :S
