Hi All

I just went to change some pads on Juicy 7 brakes but found that I couldn't fit the new pads because the pistons wouldn't back off enough.

I got round it by getting the brakes bled.

Is this the norm or is there a way round this?

Any advice would be appreciated

if the brakes have been bled with worn pads and the pistons have not been full retracted then yes it can happen as there would be too much fluid in the system.

    Thanks

That makes sense, will need to be aware next time brakes are bled.

Also some pads have more material on the braking surfaces than others, I had this with a set of Carbon Lorraine pads on Hayes Nine brakes, the original pads were at least 2mm thinners than the Lorraine's.
