I can't read the small type on here and I hate those smileys for the following reasons

-they are there
-they don't just smile
-they use up the right hand side of my brain

Well nobody forces you to log on here. If you don't like it the answer is fairly obvious.

it's all just a bit like a big warehouse with a load of mess tables and polystyrene cups compared to cyclechat being like a cosy cafe.
The trouble is with this forum is the amount of drifters compared to regulars - it makes it all a bit anonymous and lacking in personality.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good forum - there's been some good topics on here and there's often some good chat about cycling and is often a good place to find cycling related information needed. But for chat, which is tbh what i mainly use a forum for, cc is imho far preferable, so i only tend to come on here when I want to discuss a cycling matter, or when i'm forced to due to having read all the topics over there or it being down, like now.

Weel I use both forums in equal measure, and I'm a bit hacked off that some CC users are only posting on here because CC is down, I wouldn't mind so much if you weren't bitching so much about BR, if you don't like it GTF!!!!

I think it's a bit rich posting negative comments on BR when your using it to enquire about CycleChat!

The server went belly-up at around 10pm last night and I worked with an engineer trying to remotely fix it until around 2:30am. Looks like it's a hardware issue, so I'm awaiting an engineers report once they've visited the server center this morning and had a look at it.

Can't say when it'll be back up, you'll just have to check at odd intervals during the day. Hopefully not too long.

... and please ... don't come onto BR slagging it off, when they're effectively allowing us to use their forum as a notice board for the CycleChat server status!

    Thanks,
    Shaun

Shaun - a good point well made!

BR isn't all that bad although there's going to be a lot of people on CC with nothing to do today

    Its back up
  • Thank god, see ya then!!
  • The design and feel of cycle chat is more akin to the old cycling + forum which is probably why many of the old regulars from C+ went there.

I only use this forum and will continue to do so. However it has to be said that it is hard on the eyes (too much white and small type) and it's presentation could be improved a mite.

Can confirm it's AOL that's screwed......

My main PC doesn't have any AOL software, but the laptop does - ~IE and Firefox on both computers won't connect to a few sites, including wiggle, You Tube and photobucket.

But AOL's software will connect......

Probably explains why my phone doesn't work either.

Have you had any response from their technical services?

Not bothered - if you check the message boards, everyone is having trouble - it's because of their new servers although my phone is OK

Will be asking for a reduction in my rental though
