  • Some good vids there, specially liking the view from the downtube so you can see how much work the suspensions doing.

just wondering (after seeing ur awesome video) where cannock chase is? Is it just north of birmingham as multimap suggests? or is it somewhere else?

Yes its a bit north of Brum, not far from the M6 and M6 toll. There's loads of riding there for all levels (so i'm told, i've only done follow the dog). Well worth a look IMO

Great vid SDK - thanks for posting it :D

Great video... thanks for posting 8)

The end section between all the trees looks claustrophobic, how many times have you shouldered the trees

    Thanks for your comments :)

For info : The camera used was a 520 helmet camera recording to a hard drive recorder @ 720x576, 4Mbps.
I had to compress the video for uTube so the quality suffered a lot.

    Camera info here : http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/mtb-bmx-bullet-cameras.htm

What was the deal with those folks in the middle of the track on Section 13?

There's some fgreat trails on the Chase....you just need to find them :)

Is that to say that the better trails are not all part of the waymarked trails, Paul?

I've been considering a jaunt to Cannock for a while.

sorry but can I ask for more info about the camera setup?
seen the spec on the site but how did you attach it to bits of your bike/helmet and what did you record to? hard drive recorder - which one etc?
looks like a v interesting setup. thanks very much

The guy just out of shot to the left had crashed and his friends were helping him.

I have two camera mounts; One helmet and one bike - see picture below

The Hard Drive device I use is this: http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/hard-disk- ... corder.htm
From my research it’s the highest quality (resolution and bit rate) recording device available for under £1k

The only annoying thing I’ve found so far is the amount of cables and connectors. I’ve labelled everything to make it easy to re-connect up should I have to unplug anything but the sheer number and length of cables just makes it frustrating sometimes with tangles etc

There are some superb trails in and around Cannock Chase off the 'Follow the Dog' trail but it's hard to find them and also easy to get lost if you don’t have someone with you who knows their way around.
  • Nice vids !

The Chase didn't look like this at lunch-time today, that's for sure !
  • Quality film mate - must get back over to Cannock...for all it gets slated FTD is really fun...
