Can anyone recommend a decent bike supplies store in the South Side of Glasgow?

I've decided to bin Halfords because I bought a bike in their Rutherglen store with a chain that did'nt link on to the wee rings on the cassette. Twice they tried to fix it and twice it never worked, they then told me to take it to Halfords Braehead because "the guys there are really good". Stuff that, it's too far!

Took it to my local shop and the guy was great, fixed it in an hour and never charged me. Only thing is the store is small and does'nt do much inthe way of clothing and camelbacks etc. Any info on the best place to go South of the Clyde would be appreciated.

You will struggle i think.
if you can get into Dobbies Loan just above the centre of town there is a decent shop there. Not cheap but they know thier stuff.
Let this be a lesson to you though- if you want a bike go to a bike shop, you will get better service and support post purchase. Halfords, in general, just employ kids who know v little.

Aye the one at Dobbies Loan is Dales. I've never used them for servicing but they have a decent selection of gear and are generally very nice.

The south side is a bit dry. There used to be a place called Craig McMartin Cycles on Pollokshaws Road but I haven't been in since my BMX days. Don't even know if it's still there.

Craig McMartin is still there across from Queens Park, I moved from there a few months back and totally forgot about it!

Behind Bars is just up the road from McMartin's in Shawlands (at the bridge over the river) - not the cheapest but they know their stuff and have always been helpful with good service for my bikes...

Theres also Billys up from Mcmartins going into town. Never used them though but worth a try
