I recently sold my 1991 Cannondale Delta V900.

In a way I actually wish I'd kept it and used it for road work.

1990ish rigid Saracen. Brilliant bike for shops / pubs. I'm debating whether to turn it into a proper single speeder at the moment, or whether to get the gears fixed - it's had no front mech for years, and the back one's playing up.

I have a midd-ish to late '80's Saracen 531 MTB and an approx 1949 Holdsworth road-bike. The old MTB is used daily for commuting/pub/hack duties, (the Holds is a fixed and needs new forks, currently doing Turbo-duty).

Peugeot Magnum 800 - Columbus steel frame, Ritchey forks, bars, stem, headset, grips and tyres. Shimano Deore DX w. thumbies and Wolber AT18 rims! Bought in late 1991 - it's nothing like that now, but I still have it (and the receipt for it!).
  • Mine is a 1990/91 Diamondback Ascent looking to get a new bike, but I will probably keep hold of that for when I am pulling the nipper along in the trailer....

Some of the best MTBs hardtails made were from the early 90s in my opinion.

I'd still be riding my 91/92 Kona Explosif if some tosser hadn't nicked it for sure.

My 03 Cove Stiffee FR has some of the same ride feel of the Kona but it really was a classic frame

  • I still have my 1988 Dave Yates/Two Wheels Good team frame, currently halfway to being resurrected as my popping-to-the-shops bike.

  • well, i had to "resubmit the information" as i got the following message

message_die() was called multiple times. This isn't supposed to happen. Was message_die() used in page_tail.php?

I have no idea what that meant, and for your information yes I do have 2 hecklers so STFU! bloody n00bs.

I ditched my 1989 Peugeot Raider frame last year - it was rather bent and beyond saving. Came with lots of industrial strength steel parts, which were upgraded over the years. It was raced at XC, Enduro and a 10 mile TT (with slick tyres). It never had sus forks, and weighed the same as a small car, but it never failed to put a smile on my face when I rode it.

An early 80's steel Saracen which I found in a skip in Fulham in 98. It was one of the first Saracen MTB's, apparently. A friend was sponsored by them in the 80's and toured Scandinavia on the exact same model.

It was my only bike for 8 years and did many 1,00's of miles all over the UK.

Last year I got a mid-90's Orange Clockwork frame and built it up - beautiful!

The Saracen went back into a skip last month

I just retired my ID frame ( the one in my sig ). It's 10 years old this November. Now it's a wall trophy in the shed  .
  • I ride about 2500 miles a year still on my 1992 GT Tempest. - None of the original moving bits left though!

I've got a '92 (I think) Raleigh Ravine, my first MTB. I say I've got it, it's in several bits at the moment as I ponder tarting it up as a project with the idea of to using it as a runaround/commuter
