  • It won't let you do that. You have to copy it machine to machine (DRM for you!)

  • It wont let you do that - you have to copy it machine to machine directly.

You can download software off the web that will let you copy from iPod to iTunes - worth a Google as can't remember the specific package but I did this once after a hard drive failure and it was fine. Some you have to pay a small fee for but there is freeware available that does it do.
  • Search for copypod. They offer a trial period I think.

as said previously DL the extracting software, until the mp3's are in your alloted music folder itunes is irrelevant

one they're there choose the add folder to library option and everything is sorted

Sorry for piggybacking the thread but my mass storage drive (a useless sack of Maxtor sh!t that came with the PC) gave up the ghost yesterday so I've lost alot of my music. Some of it I'll have backed up on my WD iBook Pro, some stuff I'll hopefully be able to get back from iTunes but other than that I'll hhave to try and retrieve some stuff from my iPod itself.

I'm sh!t sick of Maxtor drives. I've had four or five fail on me (I don't buy them, they come with PCs nad when theey fail the warranty gives a replacement Maxtor drive ) yet I've never had a Western Digi or a Seagate go bang.
