You can enter the Fun races at under 16 BUT you will be competing against men. My partner's son who is 13 did one. He finished last BUT he finished so came around 40th out of 47th.
He did very well to finish on my opinion.
Even the Fun races are taken seriously by those racing.
The Gorrick ones in the new year (Tunnel Hill) etc are good.
Each lap around 5.5 miles, 2 laps on the Fun, 3 on the Open.
i couldnt see any under 16 races... can i enter in other races?? not just under 16 ones?
i think you would have found the answers had you bothered to read through the link and trace the page that it was posted from - a 2 second job. it's all there. i guess some people just expect things on a plate.
One more question... how do I identify which is fun? and which is one i cant compete in??
could you send me a link of the tunnel hill one you were speaking about??
Enter a cyclo cross race or two , they are a winter wonderland of cross country pain and mud.
MTB's allowed and some races are very well attended and supported. If you can do ok in these then mountain bike racing in the summer will feel like a cruise in the woods....
I think the rules say no bar ends but apart from that you can ride the mtb.
Theres a Gorrick race near Bracknell on the 4th Nov if you follow the link given above. All categories will be there, entry form is on their site listing ages etc
