  • Helicopter tape is great stuff.Just make sure you clean your frame thoroughly before applying, preferebly with an alcoholbased wipe,to degrease first. Also best to stick the centre of the tape first and spread outwards,to prevent air bubbles.

If you are going for a bigger rotor don't forget you will need an adaptor to suit .

  • Hi,

I have Fox Talas RLC front forks any one know what mount I will need to upgrade from a 160 rotor to a 180, I have looked but don’t know what IS mounts are or pole mounts?? Any links would be most grateful as …….

What else do I need? Can I use the bolts I already have and the small bits of metal that link 2 bolts together??

this should be the right mount for the front brake

I'm struggling to find someone online with the right mount for the rear brake you might be safer going into your local bike store or phoning chainreactioncycles.com and telling them what frame, fork, Disc brake you have and they might be able to sort you out.

I tried doing the 160mm rotor up 180mm rotor on a Santacruz Heckler frame with Hope brakes
and gave up after trying different adaptors the only thing that would work was to change the caliper.
  • Helicopter tape?
Could someone please tell me what it is and why it's a good idea?
  • Very strong tape used to protect your frame from cable rub and chips from the chain.
  • I've only really seen it on ebay is this the best place to get it?

    Or try www.justridingalong.co.uk

If you just need some to make some frame patches they sell a big bag of offcuts for a tenner.
