Pins & needles after the Cyclefit experience

I recently went and got a bike fit done at Cyclefit in London to try and eliminate knee pain, and and while i was there they advised my to get somesome custom insoles.
So after i got home with the computer printout they give you i started setting up the bike to their recommendations.
The following changes were made to my bike.
The saddle had to come down 1cm, it also had to be moved back 1.5cm so the tip of the saddle was 8.5cm behind the centre of the bottom bracket,
A shorter stem had to be fitted changing from a 10.5cm to an 8cm the reason for this is so the reach from the tip of the saddle to the centre of the handlebars measures 51.2cm.
They also set up my cleats and they are now a lot more forward on the shoes than i usually have them, i normally set up the cleats so the markings on the cleats are in line with ball of my feet.
So after all that i now find that my hands are sore and i am getting pins & needles going numb sometimes depending how long i stay out on the bike.
I have never been troubled with my hands before the set up so any advise as to what i should do next would be greatly appreciated.

Oh BTW i am 5'10" tall with an inside leg measurement of 30"

IMO that's a pretty short reach from tip of saddle to bars c-to-c for someone of your height, but I'm fully aware that's entire based upon your morphology, not my opinion. Do you ride in the drops a lot or on top of the bars? Centred or hands on the STIs? I've found the angle of the hook (the rear of the 'dropped' portion) is rather critical to comfort, such that I like the rear of the bars sloping down a bit (reduces pressure on the ulnar area of the palm.

Maybe you should return to the offending shop and explain the affliction; after all, if they got the fit 95% right and this is the current problem then that might be classed a result.

This sounds like a totally botched fitting to me! All the symptoms you are reporting sound like the result of a badly fitted bike. An 8cm stem will do nothing for the handling of your bike either.
I'm also curious about the way they've set your cleats up. It doesn't sound right to me.

And you went to them thinking they knew what they were doing! And paying for the privilege.

Ditto go back and see them. I got fitted about 3 years ago, and they were helpful, so hopefully should deal with your genuine concerns.

Thanks folks for taking the time to reply.
As for going back to the shop i live in northern Ireland and only went to Cyclefit as i was in London for the weekend a few months back.
I will email julian again to see what he can come up with, in the meantime someone advised me to buy Andy Pruitt's "complete medical guide for cyclists" , so i have just ordered it, might have been better to buy this book before i went to Cyclefit.
    will keep you informed.

I too had a terrible experience there as did a former teammate of mine. He ended up with screwed up knees, I had a bike that handled like a shopping trolley in races.
