Cycle computer for schwinn spinning bike
I have a schwinn spinning bike and would like to use a bike computer with it to measure cadence, distance, speed, etc.
Has anyone done this ? Obviously, I would need a bike computer where you can enter wheel size specifically because the flywheel on the spinning bike is quite small.
Would I have problems with the sensor part. I cant mount the sensor magnet on the edge of the wheel because the tension brake pads are applying tension to these edges.
I can however mount the magnet to the face of the wheel because I could then mount the sensor to the underside of the front down bar that rises from halfway along the chainstay and stretches upwards and forwards to a couple of inches below the top of the stem. ! the flywheel spins below this.
Im thinking I would have to remove the mounting bits from the sensor magnet and glue the magnet to the face of the wheel.
Also is 3mm the normal distance between sensor magnet and sensor ?
Im just wandering if anyone has done this - or is there a cycle computer that can be utilised for both regular bikes and spinning bikes without me getting out the hacksaw and duct tape.
Thanks

I use a Cateye Astral 8, which has a cadence sensor. Looking at some pics of the Schwinn bike, I'm not sure that you'd be able to fit the cadence sensor onto the crank arms.0
