i use a 34-36t bash and chainguide on a 32t chainring?

At the moment im having to use spacers under the guide, and someone told me this isnt a good idea. My ISGC adapter bent so i have to get another one, and im wondering whether its worth getting a new ring aswell...

nothing really except that it may rub on the chain and it is bigger than you need.

chain on bash. but it does depend on what you are using....

  • Raceface Diabolous bash + chainguide?

TBH, ive been running the bash on the chainring for a while and its fine. I shouldve been more specific in my first post.

But, a work collegue seems to think that there will be problems with the guide if i keep running my ring smaller than the bash

tbh i dont know that set up.

what can happen with set ups used with smaller rings than they are designed for comes down to the chain angle as it may not clear the guides/rings... as the distance between the edge of the chain ring and the bash is too big.
