I recently went to remove my cranks and had no trouble removing the left crank. I started to remove the right crank with the crank extractor when all the threads in the crank ,that hold the crank extractor in place, sheered off. I did not cross thread them or anything like that. I know cant remove the crank and has anyone got any tips without having to destructivly remove with a hacksaw

i don't know if it is possible to get any purchase on the BB cartridge but if so then you could unscrew it with the drive side crank still attatched then press out the BB from the crank on a press.

  • its fitted with an interference fit, of how much i'm not sure, could try giving it a lick of heat with a blow torch, or oxy-acetylene gear with a gas welding nozzle on

  • if you have any trouble fitting the new one, put it in the freezer for a few hours
