Anything from Cateye would not disappoint, their stuff is easy to use and reliable.

  • Cateye micro wireless....excellent little thing, it's got just about all the features bar cadence reading.

try and get it from the U.S, it works out quite a bit cheaper.
  • I got a wireless bike computer (okay, a cheap one from Maplin), but I regret it now as it gets interference from my flashing LED light at the front, which adds 32Mph to reported speed!

Agree that I like the Cateye ones and have several.

Personally I'd go for one where you can put in exact measured wheel circumference - but I guess I'm abit of a nerd. Go wireless if you want but they're easy to fit normally and you have a second battery to replace (one in a blue moon that is). Cadence is okay but I think you pretty much know whether you're spinning or grinding anyway.

Any Cateye wireless - very reliable - only problems I've had with them are occasional interference from another rider with the same model (but bizzarely only when I ride on his right - then my speed doubles - great for the ego, but not very accurate) and a spot in Cumbria just south of Carlisle when I did the End to End when it registered 0mph for about half a mile near an MOD radio station :?:

what RichA said but get the 4.0 for the extra £5 from Ribble if you dont want to wire up a cadence sensor it comes with a mounting bracket without the cadence, this would allow you to have a wireless front and if you wanted at a later date a cadence sensor.

I've actually got two of these and recommend it very highly! Never had any issues with it

+1 for any of the Cateye computers.

If you are riding on rigid forks, why bother with wireless? Great for forks with travel, but interference from other riders' computers (as bronzie points out) and some speed cameras can be annoying and there is also a cost premium to be paid. Wireless for forks with travel, but otherwise I would recommend wires.

Had a bad experience with a cateye micrwireless -needed new batteries every month, wouldn't work when cold and lots of interference problems. Given comments above, it must have been a duff unit. I've now got a wired cateye strada which so far has been great, very easy to use, very clear screen and neat construction.

I have just bought a Blackburn Delphi 4.0 wireless a couple of weeks ago, really good piece of kit, comes with cadence with a separate wired bracket if you want it. Very accurate, you measure the circumference of the wheel, so its pretty exact.

Got mine from Active Sports Kit for £25
