After my 3rd stage pre-pike refit which had my bike upgraded towards an adaptable hope dt swiss front wheel and SRAM X-9 shifters, an evans cycle representative accidently let slip or a device SRAM do called a " Rollamajig" to me . Apparently this " Rollamajig" will make shifting even more smooth and accurate but he says , its not recommended on SRAM groupsets , only shimano .
Is this true , why would SRAM come up with a device that will improve "the enemy's" shifting ratio and not get one out for their groupsets?

  • IIRC Avid brought it out before they were bought by Sram, it stoped the big loop of cable at the back, may have increased perfomance but I don't know.

Wasn't a Crud CogHog similar too?

Yes, I am using one on the rear V-Brake, in this case a full set of DX V-Brakes
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Rollermagigs make a huge difference to the shifting quality. I was all set to jump to the Sram camp untill i saw one in my lbs. As already mentioned they are not made any more, but you can still find them on fleebay. Also someone on southerdownhill bought a load to sell on, so might be worth trying there.

    here is one in use.

just so you know what to look for. you can use a brake noodle to do the same.

Saw these in the latest Leisure Lakes catalogue (in a range of colours!) if that's any help.
