Can anyone comment on the quality of the BEARINGS in the Royce hubs, the Titan looks good for the front of the new tandem. Alternatively White Industries hubs (USA) which are even better looking!

  • all the Royce bits I've had (BB's, hubs) have been inceredibly smooth bearings

White Industries and Royce are both great. Also look at DT Swiss 240s, Chris King, and especially Phil Wood.

Hope too. I used to have a Fatso and that was a lovely hub.

I have Hope hubs that have quite a resistance to spinning so I was lloking for something that was more free running. The White Inds rear hub I have has very free running bearings.

All these hubs use similar cartridge bearings. Differences in how freely they spin could be down to how good the weather sealing is.
