I picked one of these up in Halfrauds a few weeks ago, but used it for the first time last night. I was changing the crappy bottom of the range 25C Michelins that came on my fixie for a pair of 25C Continental Gatorskins, so took 2 tyres off and put 2 on. It's a brilliant tool! So easy to use, and would be a very handy thing to have in your bag on a cold, wet, dark night when you have to do a quick tube change. I highly recommend it!

Yes it is good isn't it? I use one too though i have to say i wouldn't like to use it on a carbon rim as I think it might be scratched.

If you are using clinchers on carbon rims, then you are obviously an "Expert Cyclist" (C) DennisN rather than a Real Cyclist and deserve all the punctures that come your way.

  • I got one at the weekend and tried it for the first time. It was great getting the tyre off but snapped getting the tyre back on

    I liked the idea though.

    That's a shame :(

I'd take it back and get a refund/replacement if it broke the first time you used it.

Mine felt pretty solid when I used it last night.

My personal favourite is the VAR tool - Does essentially the same job.
