Brake Hose for Giant MPH3? Will any do?

Hi,

If I wanted to replace the hose on my hydro disc brakes, could I simply buy a stretch of hose and stick the banjos/olives/nipples, etc on the ends?

    if it is the correct size then yes. or you could get any you want as long as the ends are correct for your brakes. eg goodridge.

    This never ends!!! :cry:

    I just asked the bike shop near me for a quote for some hose and he said £15-25, plus anywhere from £5 to £35 to fit it and bleed the system.

    I might as well buy a new brake! I can afford it, but it just seems wrong that I can't get a length of hose for a reasonable price and have a go myself?

    Does anyone know where I can get properly-priced hose from?
