before i start i'll apologise as a have no idea what year bike i have,i think its an 04...anyway the frame is a cove hustler, now having been riding it for a few months now ive found all the bits i do and dont like, so.... does anyone have any advice forme regarding the smaller ring on the front sprocket, my problem is this...... the frame is such a shape that if its put into the smallest cog on the front the chain has to run on the frame and getting it out is interesting enough too, it wont come on its own you have to get off and pull it out.... there isnt enough clearance between the sprocket and the frame for chain to run thru, can you get a spacer or something to put there? any ideas folks?!?

    Need more details.
Does the chain rub the frame from underneath on the lower section that is fixed to the rear wheel (chainstay), or does it just get stuck down behind the chainrings on the front section of frame where the cranks attatch (bottom bracket shell)?
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

You could try a freewheel spacer on your BB cup, assuming the RH cup has the flange on it. They are the same size 1.37"~ and the additional 2.5-3mm might be enough. Try your LBS to get hold of one
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • it gets stuck down behind chainrings near bb, will put pic up as soon as i get my bike back, had a bit of an off today so mate took bike home with him while i went to hospital..!! no more riding for 6 weeks now

if it is just jumping of the small ring resetting the mech can help.
