I am new to fixie riding but hooked all the same now ride my £100 single speed more than my rather my £1500 racing bike.
I have heard you can use bmx chains on fixed road bikes but are they limited in length i am using 48 - 16 at the moment but will go to bigger front ring for tt next year will bmx chain be long enough.

Bought a BMX half-link chain and it fits my fixed-gear bike fine - running 48x16 - still had a couple links left over.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

My BMX chain had a few links left over on my SS running 48x18 but this is a MTB.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
  • A BMX chain wasn't quite long enough for 48x18 on my Pompino. I had to cadge a few spare links from the LBS.
