bust freehub

luckily I was nearly home on yesterday's ride when I lost drive in the rear wheel - I had to coast all the way home.

Any idea what the likely problem is? Is it likely to be the ratchet mechanism? Is it serviceable or will I need a new freehub?

New freehub I'm afraid, once they're gone they're a real pain to try and service and they don't last very long - once the pawls or springs get mashed it's pretty terminal.
