1. Early morning golfists have a bad slice - wear helmet if riding past 1st tee.

2. Despite being exactly the same material, green cycle lanes are faster than red ones.

3. Orange PSP22 and last night's bottle of Barolo produce interesting burps.

4. A forecast of 0.0mm of rain actually means miles of heavy drizzle.

5. Great half time entertainment can be had by stopping at major tourist attractions, parking your bike and yourself in front of popular photo spots and watching foreign tourists argue about which of them is going to ask you to move.

6. Wet cobblestones. Tricky going up - feckin' scary coming down.

he cycled past just as I'd took off the jersey and the base layer had come off with it by mistake. He wouldn't have seen much as only my sweaty head and shoulders were visible over the hedge (I think). We said good morning to each other.

If it's good enough for Paula Radcliffe........
  • So is nobody going to crack any bush jokes???

This morning, I saw Timperley's very own Frank Sidebottom (you know the one with the paper mache head) standing at the side of the road. He gave me a big thumbs up and we said "good morning" to each other. I finished the last mile of my ride cracking up. :D:D

yes, he was in full paper mache! I think he does tours of timperley in an open top bus so perhaps he was waiting for the bus to turn up? (why would anyone want to do a tour of timperley???) It must take them all of 5 minutes.
It was an amusing and bizarre end to a lovely autumnal ride.

    1. I never see women 'answering the call of nature'. *

    2. I never see men with papier mache heads.*

    3. You see so much more when you don't worry about time / speed and just pootle along.

    4. The cold can be a good thing - very refreshing.

    5. It may be cold but you really do sweat as much as usual. Keep hydrated out there!

    6. Dead sheep don't smell as much when partially frozen...

    *These may be good points...
