Anyone else any experience of Bontrager RaceXLite Aerowing clinchers. I had them fitted to my new bike and I think I have had puncture on every ride bar 1 or 2 out of the 10 times I've ridden it so far. I'm taking them off today and putting some gatorskins on for the autumn. I've been using them for 60 mile Saturday morning group rides, are they more of a TT tyre?

When bikes are assembled, the tubes aren't talc'ed such that they stick to the inside of the tyre and are a lot more prone to punctures. For a new bike, remove the tubes, talc them and replace. Then again, you may have crap tyres - this is one area when companies cut corners - fitting the cheapest tyres.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • That's the thing, they weren't cheap - £60 per pair I think

Sound like light weight race tyres to me. Might try something beefier.
