Campag Khamsin Wheel Upgrade

Just a bit of advice, I have a old bike with Sora 8 speed gearing with unbranded wheels.
I'm looking at upgrading the wheels to lighter versions (and a bit of bling?!?!?!)
As per the header i'm interested in the Khamsin wheels but as per the website they are campag only cassette compatible.
Seeing as I'm on a budget I don't want to upgrade the gearing to 9 or 10 speed.
I'm stuck as do Campag sell 8 speed cassettes compatable with this wheel, is it compatable with the sora gearing? I understand Campag now only sell 9 or 10 speed cassettes?
Any advice will be more than welcome, also anyone interested in cycling in/around the Chatham area???

I would go for the Shimano R550, £65 from Ribble. Lighter than the Khamsins and no compatability issue.0

Khamsins won't work - not without some elaborate and expensive process of a fancy casette (shimano spaced cogs on a campag splined unit) or shift-mate type things (to allow shimano shifters to change gear on a campag casette)
the 550's are good at that price0 -
I didn't see a Khamsin with a HG (shimano) hub on the Campagnolo website, but they might exist. Wheels that cheap, such as the Shimano wheels mentioned, likely won't be much of an upgrade from the stock wheels you have.
Have you considered Mavic Aksiums?
Bo bling, but awesome wheels..

I have these wheels, but with Campagnolo Athena hubs. I raced them all year and trained on them, and they have not skipped a beat. Plus they have a proper spoke pattern (I hate bling).0 -
Thanks for the advice, i thought it just wouldn't work (i really liked the way the spokes are laced, though),
I'll take a look at the other wheels mentioned, cheers.0 -
i thin the khamsin's are cracking wheels for the price but they won't work for you. The Mavic Askium are probably your best bet.0
